I am excited to be able to use my background to create customized pregnancy paintings. My idea is that it can be treated like a maternity photo shoot but the end result is an oil painting of yourself that you can keep forever!

My Process:

  • Create a series of charcoal sketches live at the subjects house.

  • Take these references in my studio and with the client’s help, decide which to base the end painting on

  • Create the painting combining my style of painting skin with the reference sketch

  • Collaborate to decide the background and overall finish of the painting

Oil Painting:

Possible Questions Answered

  • Absolutely not! Coming from a background of extensive life drawing (nude model) classes, I am comfortable drawing you however you feel safest and most confident!

    If that means fully nude, awesome!

    If that means fabrics draped to cover anything you want, I can help arrange them, and they will add gorgeous texture to the art!

  • The best sketches come from fast confident movements! So I do not expect you to be able to hold poses for hours at a time. We will do poses that are easy to hold, and if you need a break at anytime we will take a break!

  • No! The beauty of my process is that it is all based on my original charcoal sketches, so there is no need to worry about the security of photographs.

  • This is completely up to you!! The sketching session can be done at any point of your pregnancy and does not need to be scheduled very far out.

    The moment you want to be captured will be different for everyone!

  • As this is a venture I am starting out, I do not have a fixed price model yet and will determine it case by case, depending on the size of the canvas. The price communicated will be transparent with no hidden costs.

    *The agreed-upon price will be paid in full at the live sketching session.
